In terms of manufacturing experience, few, if any, companies
in the plastics thermoforming industry can match EPI. On average,
our manufacturing personnel have over 20 years of experience in
our
plant and bring superior skills and craftsmanship to a wide range
of projects. We have the ability to meet the most exacting tolerances
of our customers.
EPI's manufacturing plant in Gibsonville, NC comprises approximately
80,000 square feet. Virtually all aspects of a job from original
quotation to final shipment are handled in our fully-integrated
Gibsonville facility. We are equipped to meet the following types
of plastic and non-ferrous metal fabrication requirements:
Plastic Thermoforming:
We
offer a complete range of plastic thermoforming equipment using
state of
the art controls and zoned heating technology. We can create a
single prototype for customer evaluation or satisfy high-volume
production
requirements. Our vacuum forming machines can accommodate sheet
sizes as large as 54" x 106", and our oven capacity
can handle sheet sizes up to 10' x 12', the largest standard
thermoplastic
sheet size available. Other plastic thermoforming capabilities
include drape forming and strip heat bending.
CNC Trimming:
We have extensive CNC capabilities for many types of custom machine
work. Our technical staff specializes in the fabrication of plastic
and non-ferrous metal items. Our in-house tooling, manufacturing
and inspection facilities assure total job control and quality through
shipment. Specific machining services include:
- CNC Routing (5-axis)
- CNC Milling
- CNC Lathes
- Drilling
- Automatic Screw Machining
- Shaping
- Engraving
Assembly:
For both complete fabrication projects as well as customer-consigned
parts, we have a full range of assembly capabilities. We can assemble
and otherwise finish thermoformed or machined component parts. Solvent
bonding, heat welding, screen printing and polishing are some of
the other post-forming services that we offer.

Plastic Injection Molding:
We offer injection molding services with capacity up to 550 tons.
Specialty Services:
Engineered Plastics can also provide a wide range of specialized
services where needed. We have a dedicated Tooling Department in
our plant which can produce precision tooling of the highest quality,
and our Engineering Department has access to a wide range of CAD
design services, as well as the ability to provide "reverse
engineering" according to customer requirements. Our sales
professionals can recommend specific plastics that will
best meet the requirements for the part being produced. Long-established
relationships with major plastics suppliers can often be invaluable
for our customers.
